Research Paper Outline

For the past weeks, we've had time to choose a topic, research in the library, and develop a thesis. Our next stage in writing the paper is to create an outline.

For this assignment:

  • Clearly state your topic and thesis

  • Type up your outline (in whichever form you choose) and post it on the blogsite

  • Read classmates' blogs and respond to at least 3 with comments

Due Date: Monday, December 15th (By 3 pm.)

Extra credit will be awarded to those who post earlier.

If you are using Inspiration or any other software to post your outline, email it to Mr. Zinman at mzinman@croton-harmonschools.org. I will then add those images to the post.

LovePinkx3-
Even though that time period was very depressing for the world, you choose good reasons to support that the Jews got through the holocaust by escaping, hiding, and compliance.

Vollyball24-

OUTLINE-BULLET POINTS:
• Thesis
• The draft was bad because you were forced into the army
• Many men dressed up like women so people would think they were crazy so they wouldn’t have to go into the war.
• It didn’t work, so they got forced into training.
• After their training, soldiers would be sent overseas to Vietnam to fight.
• Many American soldiers died because they didn’t know the land well, and the Viet-Cong also laid down trap like devices, planks of wood with metal stakes sticking up.
• This was dangerous and many American soldiers died from it.
• So many people had died in Vietnam that the U.S government had sent officials to force people to be in the army. Many loved ones were lost when they went out to war.

• THE BENEFIT- We had more troops to help us try to win the war.
• It would help us keep a stand in the war. (when the Viet-Cong surrendered but we really did lose the war part).

THESIS: Elvis Presley is the sole starter of rock and roll.
I. He started the art form because of his musical details.
A: He became big for his "rock and roll" in the 50s and many people believe that the Beatles were the starters when in real life they came in the 60s.
B: He had the first rock sound, he often played multiple chords repeatedly in four four time, and that is the usual rock and roll sound for modern rock and classic.
II. Elvis is not the same as Johnny Cash
A: Johnny Cash is considered country, because of his bluesy guitar playing and voice, Elvis had more songs that would be at a faster pace, and wouldn't use his voice as smooth as Johnny's
B:The reason i put that is because when people think of Johnny or Elvis, they often associate each with one another, and that leads the thinker to believe that they are both country.
III.Elvis Inspired Jimmy Page greatly
A: in an interview with Jimmy, he said that he got a lot of his Blusiness from Elvis, and that he was an idol for his guitar playing.
B: the reason i bring this point up is so that you will see how greatly he inspired some of the greatest rock bands of America.

*IDEA--> In 1939 at the beginning of WWII, Coco Chanel closed all her shops, deciding that it was not a time for fashion. During this time, she stayed at Hotel Ritz Paris and for more than 30 years, Chanel made this hotel her home, even during the Nazi occupation of Paris. During that time she was criticized for having an affair with Hans Gunther von Dincklage, a German officer and Nazi spy who arranged for her to remain in the hotel. She also maintained an apartment above her couture house at 31, rue Cambon and built Villa La Pausa in Roquebrune on the French Riviera.
