Research Paper Outline
For the past weeks, we've had time to choose a topic, research in the library, and develop a thesis. Our next stage in writing the paper is to create an outline.
For this assignment:
For this assignment:
- Clearly state your topic and thesis
- Type up your outline (in whichever form you choose) and post it on the blogsite
- Read classmates' blogs and respond to at least 3 with comments
Due Date: Monday, December 15th (By 3 pm.)
Extra credit will be awarded to those who post earlier.
If you are using Inspiration or any other software to post your outline, email it to Mr. Zinman at mzinman@croton-harmonschools.org. I will then add those images to the post.

Book Recommendation Assignment
We've learned there are different purposes which encourage us to read. While sometimes we read books based on certain topics or written in various genres, many times it is the recommendation of our peers which gets us reading. For this assignment, choose a book you've read in the last three months which you enjoyed and write a review/recommendation.
Points to Remember:
Summarize the main idea of the story in 2-3 sentences. (Think of the genre, the setting, and beginning of the story line.)
Suggest what type of reader would like the book.
Check your spelling before you post a comment!
Due Dates:
8th Grade - Saturday, October 4th by 3 p.m.
7th Grade - Sunday, October 5th by 3 p.m.

Welcome to Our Class Blog!
I'm glad to offer this interactive site for our English classes. This will give us a chance to respond to readings, writings, and other media. I hope we all have a chance to use this technology to improve our own writing as well as develop our personal opinions. Remember, keep it focussed and keep it clean, and always check your work before posting.
